Hosea 11:7
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
This verse from Hosea says that God's people keep turning away from Him, even when they are called to honor the Most High. No one lifts Him up or respects His authority.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a favorite toy that makes you happy, but every time your parents ask you to play with it nicely, you don't listen and put it aside. That's like God asking his people to follow him, but they keep choosing not to.
Historical Background
Hosea wrote this during the time of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in about 750-690 BC. The audience was a rebellious nation who had turned away from following God’s commands and were worshiping other gods.
Living It Out Today
Consider a scenario where a manager tries to motivate their team by offering incentives, but the employees continue to neglect important tasks despite being reminded of the company's values.
