Ezekiel 21:5
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking through the prophet Ezekiel. He is saying that He has taken out His sword, which represents judgment, and it will not be put back until the purpose is fulfilled. This is a message of warning and judgment.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a toy sword, and when you take it out, you tell everyone you won't put it back until you've finished playing. That's what God is saying here. He's showing that He's serious about what He's about to do.
Historical Background
Ezekiel was a prophet who lived around 600 BC. He was among the Jewish people who were exiled to Babylon. God used Ezekiel to warn both the Babylonians and the Israelites about the coming judgment.
Living It Out Today
Today, we might think about how we respond to warnings. If a traffic light is red, we stop. Similarly, God's warnings are serious and we should heed them seriously, not ignoring them.
