Deuteronomy 18:19
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
This verse says that if someone doesn't listen to the words spoken by God's chosen messenger, God will hold that person accountable. God is speaking through Moses, warning the Israelites about the consequences of ignoring the prophet’s message.
Explained for Children
Imagine if your parents send a message to you through your big brother, and you ignore it. This verse is like your parents saying they will be upset if you don't listen to what your big brother tells you.
Historical Background
Moses wrote this during the Israelites' journey through the wilderness, around 1200 BCE. He was addressing the Israelites, reminding them of God's covenant and the importance of obeying the future prophets God would raise up among them.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, imagine a manager sending a crucial message through a team leader. If a team member ignores the team leader's instructions, they might face consequences, mirroring how God holds people accountable for ignoring the prophets He sends.
