أخِيتُوفَلُ يقتُلُ نفسَه وَرَأى أخِيتُوفَلُ أنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ لَمْ يَقْبَلُوا بِنَصِيحَتِهِ، فَوَضَعَ سِرْجاً عَلَى حِمارِهِ وَعادَ إلَى مَدينَتِهِ الأُمِّ. وَهُناكَ نَظَّمَ أُمُورَ عائِلتِهِ ثُمَّ شَنَقَ نَفْسَهُ. وَبَعْدَ مَوتِهِ، دَفَنَهُ الشَّعبُ فِي مقبرَةِ وَالِدِهِ.
