وَكانَ لَدَى عُزِّيّا جَيشٌ مِنَ الجُنُودِ المُدَرَّبِينَ. وَقَدْ قَسَّمَ الجَيشَ إلَى فِرَقٍ وَفْقَ الخُطَّةِ الَّتِي أعَدَّها يَعِيئِيلُ كاتِبُ المَلِكِ، وَالضابِطُ مَعْسِيَّا، تَحتَ إدارَةِ حَنَنْيا، أحَدِ كِبارِ الضُّبّاطِ لَدَى المَلِكِ. فَأحصَى يَعِيئيلُ وَمَعْسِيَّا الجُنُودَ وَقَسَّماهُمْ فِي فِرَقٍ.
