2 Chronicles 1:3
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
This verse tells us that Solomon and all the people went to a high place in Gibeon because that's where the tabernacle of God was located. The tabernacle was made by Moses in the wilderness. It was a place where people could meet with God.
Explained for Children
Imagine you and all your friends going to a special house where you can meet your favorite superhero. In this story, Solomon and everyone went to a special tent called a tabernacle where they could meet with God, just like how Moses made it when he was in the desert.
Historical Background
The book of 2 Chronicles was written long after the events it describes, likely during or after the Babylonian exile. The author is anonymous, but the text was written for the Jewish community returning to Jerusalem. It provides a historical account of Solomon's reign and the significance of worship places.
Living It Out Today
Today, just like Solomon, we can also go to special places to meet God. For many, this is their church or a quiet place for prayer. This reminds us that we can connect with God in different locations and circumstances.
