كانَ شَلُّومُ بْنُ قُورِي بْنِ أبِياسافَ بْنِ قُورَحَ وَأقرِباءُ عائِلَتِهِ القُورَحِيُّونَ مُشْرِفِينَ عَلَى عَمَلِ الخِدْمَةِ، حُرّاساً عَلَى عَتَبَةِ الخَيْمَةِ، كَما سَبَقَ أنْ كانَ آباؤهُمْ مَسْؤُولِينَ عَنْ مَسْكَنِ اللهِ، حُرّاساً لِلمَدْخَلِ.
