What Does This Mean?
This verse describes how the Levites collected money in a chest and brought it to the king's office. When the chest was full, the scribe and the high priest's officer would take the money and return the chest to be filled again. This process happened daily, accumulating a lot of money.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a piggy bank that you put money in every day. When it gets full, your parents take the money out, empty it, and put it back for you to fill again. That's kind of like what was happening here with the Levites and the chest of money.
