This verse is Paul asking the Thessalonians to grow more in their faith and behavior, just as he taught them before. He's telling them to walk in a way that pleases God, and to keep getting better at it.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're really good at riding your bike already, but now someone is saying, 'You know how to ride well? Let's see if we can make you even better! Ride faster or more safely.' That's what Paul is telling the people in Thessalonica - they're doing great, and he wants them to do even better!
Historical Background
This verse comes from a letter written by Apostle Paul around AD 51-52. It was sent to the church of Thessalonians (in modern-day Greece) as an encouragement for their faith and practice in light of Jesus' teachings.

Imagine you’re working on your job performance, and your boss gives you feedback that you’re doing well. Now imagine she asks you to keep improving by taking on more responsibilities or mastering new skills. That’s like what Paul is asking the Thessalonians to do with their faith and actions.
