Leviticus 27:23
What Does This Mean?
This verse explains that if someone wants to dedicate their land to God, a priest will estimate its value based on the upcoming Jubilee year, and the person will give that amount as a holy offering to the Lord. The speaker is God through Moses, and the key message is about dedicating possessions to God according to set rules.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a toy that you want to give to the church. The church needs to know how much it's worth. So, they look at how much your toy would be worth if you could play with it until you grow up. Then, you give that amount to the church. This is like how God asked the people to give their land to Him with a fair price.
