لِأَنَّ أَحَدَهُمْ بَاعَنَا أَنَا وَشَعْبِي لِكَيْ نَهْلِكَ وَنُقْتَلَ وَنَفْنَى. فَلَوْ أَنَّهُ بَاعَنَا عَبِيدًا وَجَوَارِيَ، لَكُنْتُ سَكَتُّ، لِأَنَّ الْعَدُوَّ لَا يَسْتَحِقُّ أَنْ نُزْعِجَ بِهِ الْمَلِكَ!“
