وقالَ يَشوع: «آه، أَيُّها السَّيِّدُ الرَّبّ، لِماذا عَبَّرتَ هٰذا الشَّعبَ الأُردُنَّ عُبورًا لِتُسلِمَنا إِلى يَدِ الأَمورِيّ، حتَّى يُبيدَنا؟ يا لَيتَنا كُنَّا ٱرتَضَينا وأَقَمْنا بِعِبرِ الأُردُنّ!
