أَمَّا أَحيتوفَل، فلَمَّا رأَى أَنَّ مَشورَتَه لم يُعمَلْ بِها، شَدَّ على الحِمارِ وقامَ وٱنصَرَفَ إِلى بَيتِه في مَدينَتِه، ونَظَّمَ أُمورَ بَيتِه وخَنَقَ نَفْسَه وماتَ ودُفِن في قَبرِ أَبيه.
