وفيما هو يَتَكَلَّمُ معَه، قالَ لَه أَمَصْيا: «أَلَعَلَّنا جَعَلْناكَ مُستَشارَ المَلِك؟ كُفَّ، فلِماذا يَضرِبونَكَ؟». فكَفَّ النَّبِيُّ وقال: «قد عَلِمتُ أَنَّ اللهَ قد عَزَمَ على هَلاكِكَ، لأَنَّكَ فَعَلتَ هٰذا ولَم تَسمَعْ لِمَشورَتي».
