فَقَالَ شُيُوخُ جِلْعَادَ لِيَفْتَاحَ: «بِسَبَبِ ذَلِكَ التَجَأنَا إلَيْكَ الآنَ. نُرِيدُكَ أنْ تَأْتِيَ مَعَنَا، وَأنْ تُقَاتِلَ العَمُّونِيِّينَ، وَتَصِيرَ زَعِيمًا عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ سُكَّانِ جِلْعَادَ.»
