Jeremiah 51:64
Arabic 2016 (الكِتاب المُقَدَّس: التَّرْجَمَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ المُبَسَّطَةُ)
What Does This Mean?
This verse says that Babylon will fall and never rise again because of the evil it has done. Jeremiah is speaking and saying that Babylon will be so worn out by this evil that it won't be able to recover. This is the end of Jeremiah's prophecy about Babylon.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a toy tower made of blocks. One day, you decide to knock it down. This verse is like saying that once the tower falls, it will never stand up again because it was built badly. Jeremiah is telling everyone that the big city called Babylon is like that tower.
Historical Background
Jeremiah, a prophet, wrote this around 586 BCE. He was prophesying to the people of Judah about the fall of Babylon, which was a powerful empire. This prophecy was meant to show that even great powers can fall if they do evil.
Living It Out Today
In modern life, this can be applied to situations where a company or person becomes so corrupted that it cannot recover. For example, a company that cheats its customers might eventually go out of business and not be able to rebuild its reputation.
