Arabic 2016 (الكِتاب المُقَدَّس: التَّرْجَمَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ المُبَسَّطَةُ)
What Does This Mean?
This verse says that those who run from danger will fall into another danger, and those who escape one danger will get caught in another. The Lord is speaking and says that He will bring judgment upon Moab.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing hide and seek, and you run away from one scary spot, but then you trip and fall into a hole. When you get out of the hole, you get caught by the seeker. That's what God is saying will happen to the people of Moab.
Historical Background
Jeremiah wrote this prophecy around 626-586 B.C. The audience was the people of Judah and the surrounding nations, including Moab. This was a time of political upheaval, with the Babylonian Empire rising and threatening the stability of the region.
Living It Out Today
In modern life, this verse can apply to someone who tries to escape a difficult situation but ends up in another worse one. It reminds us that running from problems often leads to more problems, and sometimes, we need to face our fears head-on.
