لِأنَّ جَمِيعَ الكَهَنَةِ كَانُوا قَد طَهَّرُوا أنْفُسَهُمْ. وَكَانَ اللَّاوِيُّونَ جَمِيعًا طَاهِرِينَ، فَذَبَحُوا حَمَلَ الفِصْحِ عَنْ كُلِّ الَّذِينَ عَادُوا مِنَ السَّبْيِ، وَعَنْ إخْوَتِهِمُ الكَهَنَةِ، وَعَن أنْفُسِهِمْ.
