Exodus 8:10
Arabic 2016 (الكِتاب المُقَدَّس: التَّرْجَمَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ المُبَسَّطَةُ)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Pharaoh agrees to let Moses and Aaron pray to stop the frogs from infesting Egypt. He asks for the frogs to be gone by the next day. Moses accepts and says that this will show that the Lord is truly powerful and unmatched.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a big problem with lots of toys in your room. Your friend says they can clean it up, but only if you let them do it tomorrow. You agree and they say 'okay, I'll do it tomorrow, and you'll see that I'm really good at cleaning up messes!'. That's what's happening here, but with frogs instead of toys!
Historical Background
This verse is from the book of Exodus, written by Moses around 1446 BC. It describes the events during the plagues of Egypt, where Moses is negotiating with Pharaoh on behalf of God. The text reflects the cultural context of ancient Egypt and the belief in the power of divine intervention.
Living It Out Today
In modern times, when we face problems, we can look to God for solutions. Just as Moses asked God to remove the frogs, we can pray for God to help us with our difficulties, showing that He is the ultimate source of power and help.
