فَنَحْنُ لَا نَجرُؤُ أنْ نُصَنِّفَ أنْفُسَنَا مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَمْتَدِحُونَ أنْفُسَهُمْ، أوْ أنْ نُقَارِنَ أنْفُسَنَا بِهِمْ. فَهُمْ يَجْعَلُونَ أنْفُسَهُمْ مِقيَاسًا يَقِيسُونَ بِهِ أنْفُسَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يُقَارِنُونَ بَعْضَهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ، مُظهِرِينَ بِذَلِكَ أنَّهُمْ بِلَا فَهمٍ!
