وَبَعْدَ أنِ انصَرَفَ الصَّبِيُّ، خَرَجَ دَاوُدُ مِنْ مَخبَإهِ عَلَى الجَانِبِ الآخَرِ مِنَ التَّلَّةِ. وَجَثَا دَاوُدُ أمَامَ يُونَاثَانَ وَرَأسُهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ، وَحَنَى رَأسَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ. ثُمَّ قَبَّلَ دَاوُدُ وَيُونَاثَانُ أحَدُهُمَا الآخَرَ. وَبَكَى أحَدُهُمَا عَلَى كَتِفِ الآخَرِ. فَكَانَ وَدَاعًا حَارًّا، لَكِنَّ دَاوُدَ بَكَى أكْثَرَ.
