Explained for Children
Imagine you're at a party, but you don't know anyone at the door. A friend of yours who knows the host goes outside and tells the guard to let you in. That's what happened here with Peter!
Historical Background
The Gospel of John was written by John, one of Jesus’ disciples, around 90 AD for a community of believers facing increasing opposition from Jewish authorities. This event takes place in Jerusalem during the Passover season.
Living It Out Today
In a modern scenario, think about when you're at an event and don't know anyone; someone who does can introduce you and help you feel more comfortable. In our lives, we often need someone to advocate for us or open doors.
