Hosea 9:3
Amharic Bible (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (የብሉይና የሐዲስ ኪዳን መጻሕፍት))
What Does This Mean?
This verse from Hosea says that because of their actions, the people will not live in God's land but will return to Egypt and eat unclean things in Assyria. It is God speaking through the prophet Hosea about Ephraim’s punishment for their sins.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who keeps breaking rules. So one day your parents say, 'Okay, if you keep doing that, you won't get to stay here and play with us anymore.' This is like God telling Israel they can't live in the good land because of their choices.
Historical Background
Hosea wrote this around 750-725 BC during a time when the northern kingdom of Israel (Ephraim) was turning away from God. Hosea’s message is directed at these people, warning them about the consequences of their actions and idolatry.
Living It Out Today
Today, if someone constantly makes bad choices despite knowing better, they might find themselves in difficult situations that could have been avoided. This verse encourages us to reflect on our decisions and stay true to what’s right.
