Revelation 13:8
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
This verse tells us that everyone on earth will worship the beast except those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life, which was prepared from the beginning of time. John is speaking here about a future event where only true believers remain faithful.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a special list of friends who get to play with your favorite toy forever. The verse says that everyone else will follow a bad guy unless their name is on that special list, which was made before the world even started!
Historical Background
The Book of Revelation was written by John around 96 AD while he was in exile on Patmos. It was meant for seven churches facing persecution and aimed to encourage them with prophecies about God's ultimate victory over evil forces.
Living It Out Today
In our modern context, we can apply this verse to staying faithful when others around us are swayed by popular trends or beliefs that go against what we know is right. It’s a reminder of the importance of being true believers who trust in Jesus.
