Luke 10:12
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
Jesus is speaking here and warns that the cities which reject him will face a worse judgment than Sodom, an ancient city known for its wickedness.
Explained for Children
Imagine if you had a lemonade stand, but some kids ignored it even though they knew how yummy your lemonade was. Jesus says those kids would be in bigger trouble than the ones who never saw the stand at all.
Historical Background
This verse is part of Luke's Gospel, written around 80-100 AD. Luke wrote to a broader audience including non-Jews, explaining Jesus' teachings and actions within their historical context.
Living It Out Today
A modern scenario might be an educational opportunity ignored by those who knew it could change lives for the better; they'd face harsher consequences than those who never had the chance to learn.
