John 15:8
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
This verse is from Jesus speaking to his disciples in John's Gospel. He says that God the Father is honored when we produce lots of fruit, which means doing good deeds and sharing our faith. This also shows we are truly His followers.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a lemon tree. When it grows lots of lemons, your parents are happy because it’s healthy. Jesus says that God is pleased when we do good things and tell others about Him, just like the tree growing lemons!
Historical Background
John wrote this Gospel around AD 90 for early Christians facing persecution in Rome. The audience was largely Gentile converts to Christianity who needed encouragement to remain faithful despite opposition.
Living It Out Today
A modern scenario could be a young professional at work deciding to mentor a junior colleague, showing the love of Christ through their actions and words, thus bearing fruit as Jesus described.
